The Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital Integrated Residency Program is committed to teaching and research. Both institutions offer a plethora of opportunities and resources for residents to participate and contribute to research in clinical medicine, basic science and public health. Many residents have utilized these resources to present at national conferences and publish in major journals. Funding is provided to support resident travel and housing at national meetings at which they present their research. In addition, an endowment has been established to support curricular-driven rotations internationally. It is our hope that residents engage in research utilizing these unique clinical experiences.

Each resident is required to present one research project over his or her 4-year residency at Resident Research Day, held in May of each year. Residents are expected to present their research hypothesis and study design in a “3-slide” presentation during their PGY 2 year. Residents select their research faculty advisor based on areas of interest, and this person supports the resident throughout the project, with encouragement to present and publish their research findings. There is dedicated research elective time in the PGY 3 year, where residents are protected from clinical responsibilities in order to facilitate research. Residents are encouraged to utilize this time in whatever manner they choose, with funding available to support study/service rotations for underserved populations in the United States and abroad.

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital Integrated Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology prides itself in fostering an environment of inclusion and diversity. Applications Deadline

All applications must be completed and submitted to the program by no later than September 25, 2024, when the Dean’s Letter (MSPE) are released to the programs.

 

Interview Selection

All completed applications are reviewed by our selection committee. We are participating in program signaling and encourage applicants to utilize this to communicate your interest.  In accordance with ACOG guidelines we will send invitations to interview at our program on October 29, 2024 with rolling offers as needed.  We will allow 48 hours after interview invitation to accept or decline.  Your final applicant status (interview, reject, waitlist) will be released no later than November 27, 2024.

 

Interview Process

Our program interviews approximately 110 applicants each year. We have only two interview days, one Friday in November and one Friday in December. We offer two sessions per day, with Group A interviewing in the morning and Group B interviewing in the afternoon. Interviews will be conducted virtually using the ResidencyCAS platform.
